A group with three real irreducible characters: answering a question of Moretó and Navarro
نویسنده
چکیده
In this paper, we construct a group with three real irreducible characters whose Sylow 2-subgroup is an iterated central extension of a Suzuki 2-group. This answers a question raised by Moretó and Navarro who asked whether such a group exists. MSC primary: 20C15

On the irreducible characters of Camina triples
The Camina triple condition is a generalization of the Camina condition in the theory of finite groups. The irreducible characters of Camina triples have been verified in the some special cases. In this paper, we consider a Camina triple (G,M,N) and determine the irreducible characters of G in terms of the irreducible characters of M and G/N.
متن کاملA Special Case of the Navarro Conjecture
In [7] G.Navarro proposed a refinement of the McKay conjecture involving a special class of automorphisms. In [6] this new conjecture was verified for the alternating groups A(Π) when p = 2. In this paper, it is verified for the p-singular characters of A(Π) when |Π| = wp, w < p and p is odd. 1. McKay and Navarro conjectures Let G be a finite group, where |G| = n. Let p be a prime dividing n, D...
متن کاملExtending Characters from Hall Subgroups
Suppose that G is a finite π-separable group. A classical result asserts that all irreducible characters of a Hall π-subgroup H of G extend to G if and only if H has a normal complement in G. Now, we fix a prime p and analyze when only the p-degree irreducible characters of H extend to G. 2010 Mathematics Subject Classification: 20C15 (primary), 20G40 (secondary)
